Beach Lake

Dear Josh,

It is now 8:40 and we got home around 7:30. It was amazing seeing you and you look great. We had a great time with you and Jeremy - Beach Lake was great and I know you both had a fun time.

I baked a coffee cake for you and Jeremy to share , but I left it in your bunk. So, invite Jeremy in one day and share it with him, or share it with your bunk if he does not want any. I hope tonight was an easy night for you and I can't wait to hear about the shmutz.

write when you get a chance, I love you very much,

Love,

Mom

Rainy Days

Sunday, August 1st Dear Josh: How are you doing? I really you're enjoying yourself.

I just saw your picture on the Internet. You look great and really happy. Are you playing a lot of baseball? Please write to me if you get a chance.

We would love to hear about your camp life and all of the activities. The pictures of the camp and the activities look great. I'm sure you're enjoying seeing Mom, Dad and Jesse today. I hope the weather has improved.

Right now it's raining terribly but, hopefully, it will be sunny tomorrow. Grandma is in Florida right now. I'm going down there on Wednesday and will return home with Grandma, Monday night. Be well and have a great time in camp.

All our love,

Poppy and Grandma.

A Letter from Poppy and Grandma

Sunday, August 1st

Hello Jeremy! How are you? I heard that you're having a great time. I really envy you being up in the mountains, away at camp. I saw some pictures of the camp and it looks really great. One of the pictures shows boys or girls taking rifle lessons. Have you done that? How are you managing with all the Hebrew that is spoken? I bet you've become pretty good at it.

I know that Mom, Dad and Jesse are visiting you right now, so maybe you wouldn't receive this letter until tomorrow. I hope the weather is a little better than here. It's pouring "cats and dogs". Jeremy, I can't wait to hear about your camp experiences. If you get a chance, write to me. If not, I will understand that you're busy.

Enjoy the rest of camp.

All my love,

Poppy and Grandma

Sushi from Pizza Crave

Hi Josh! Just 2 more days until I see you! I looked on the website and there is someone else with the same color hat as you. Omrit seems to be in every other picture. Maybe it's because she participates in all of the activities. Anyway, it is 3 days after Tish Ba'av and I still haven't eaten any meat.

Yesterday, I had sushi from Pizza Cave and I don't remember what I had but I know it wasn't meat. The weatherman says there is only a 50% chance of rain on Sunday and even that will not happen until late. I want to see your bunk, the lunch room and the waterfront.

Mommy said she might bring up a sandwhich maker to make you grilled cheese sandwiches. How does that sound? anyhow, I have to get back to work. I love you and will see you soon!

The personal trainer

Dear Jeremy,

The personal trainer that Mommy hired for me for my birthday present put me through some rigorous drills. One consisted of doing 15 push ups, then jogging about 20 feet, then doing 14 push ups, jogging around a cone, 13 push ups, 12, 11, 10... until 1. After that he had me hop over some cones run 15 feet, then run in place and drop to the ground on all fours. I am in some pain today but I think it was a good workout.

I need to stop at the pet store on the way home and pick up some crickets. The grasshopper I put into the frog cage went un-eaten and later died. I guess I should take it out before it rots.

Jesse was supposed to have a sleepover at Davidi's house last night but decided to come home instead. I think he was just exhausted and wanted to sleep in his own bed.

Just one more day until the baseball trading deadline and no big trades have happened yet. They are still expecting Randy Johnson to become a Yankee but the Yankees don't have much to trade.

I love you and see you on Sunday.

Dear Jeremy, The Yankees are falling apart

Dear Jeremy,

The Yankees are falling apart. Brown, Giambi and Mussina are hurt and the bullpen just throws away the game. They have started calling Felix Herridia, Felix Horrendous. Last night he gave up a double to delgado that scored the tying run. Rumours are rampant that the Yankees are in a 3 way trade with the Padres and the Diamondbacks. The Padres are to get Steve Finley, the Yankees get Randy Johnson and the Daimondbacks unload salary and get prospects. Not sure I would do the trade if I were the Diamondbacks.

Mommy read me your letters over the phone and it sounds like you are having a wonderful time. I'm glad. I know you had some trepidation but, obviously, your worries were unfounded.

How is it swimming in the lake. I never really cared for it. I like knowing where my boundaries are and I don't like feeling weeds and sticks when I swim. Although, I heard that man made island is lots of fun.

When I was 26, Elliot Adler, Steve Schwell and I went to a summer camp for the memorial day weekend. We played softball, hung out at the pool and played volleyball. It must have been fun because I still remember a lot of the details 17 years later.

I think my favorite part of camp was hanging out by the campfire. The air outside is cold but your face feels the heat from the fire. The only downside is that the hotdogs were either undercook or so hot it burnt your mouth. Oh well.

I also remember the hot chocolate in the morning. I guess many of my favorite camp memories centered around being cold and then being hot.

I'm sure you will make your own favorite camp memories.

I love you and can't wait to see you on Sunday.

Love

Dad
