Optimum Triple Play & the Yankees

Another busy day at work. What happened to the good old days when I used to go to camp during the summer. Oh, I forgot, I grew up! Let me tell you, it is not all its cracked up to be. Working in the City was its 90 degrees, fighting traffic, eating at my desk... I could go on and on.

The Yankees pulled out another win. Granted they aren't facing stiff competition in the Rangers but they did pick up a game on the Red Sox who lost to A's. They are only 2 1/2 games out of first place and might be tied for the wild card.

I am thinking about signing for the Optimum triple play. Basically, we would have the same cable and internet services we have already but we could add our phone line to the service. I need to do an analysis to see if it will save us money.

Anyhow, I love you very much and hope you are having a great time!

Honda Civics and Carpooling

Hopefully this email arrived the first day of camp. I'm glad you were up when I came back from the pool. I wanted to say goodbye to you before you left. Anyway, the first month must have been very relaxing for you and the 2nd month will be a little more exciting.

Do Machal Boys get to fire rifles? What about Bows and arrows?

The trader rumours are still swirling around Bobby Abreu, Melke Cabrera and Alex Rodriguez. Personally, I think it would be a mistake to trade A-rod. He is arguably the best player in baseball over the last 10 years.

I still haven't booked our airline tickets for Chicago. I really need to make a decision this week but I am waiting for the fares to come down a little bit. If they don't I will just book the flights at the most convenient aiport. (Probably Newark)

I drove carpool today in my Civic. The problem is that Marty and Charlie are big boys and we also gave a ride to Ari Plaut. It looked like a fraternity prankl: how many grown men can you squeeze into a compact car. I was in the front and had plenty of room so it really didn't affect me.

I hope you have a great month and an easy fast and I will write to you regularly.

Love

Dale & Thomas Popcorn and Shabbos Cake

I am still eating the popcorn that I brought back from Moshava. Even though it is a little stale it still tastes pretty good!

I haven't been to the gym much these days. Instead, I exercise by swimming in the pool each morning. I would like to go at night but I usually get home too late.

Jeremy is still at Joey's and it is pretty wierd being in the house with no kids home. I really wanted to use the time to paint the attic but I always seem to find other things to do instead.

I actually bid on something on ebay. I think I might have mentioned that I bought a cable splitter on ebay. This is because the cable repair guy suspects that the splitter is what was causing the internet service to be interrupted.

I love you very much and eat an extra piece of shabbos cake for me.

Incredible Thunderstorms!

Jeremy went to Uncle Joey's for a few days and has been helping him clean his office and he has been going to lunch with Poppy. Maybe when you guys go home, you will do the same thing!

I need to cut the grass tonight but I also want to go to the pool. Maybe I will swim for a little while and rush back home. That way I still have a little daylight left and I can mow the lawn.

We had some amazing thunderstorms last night and we lost power for over four hours. Mommy said that she tried turning on the TV and you can hear it but there isn't a picture. It is sort of like listening to radio.

The Yankees won an exciting game last night. They tied the score in the bottom of the 9th by scoring 2 runs and then Melke Cabrera hit a home run to win the game after a 2 hour rain delay.

I think the Yankees are only 1/2 a game out of first place.

I love you very much

Cablevision and Haikara

The temperature is over 100 degrees, the yankees keep on winning and the stock market keeps on going down. Well at least one out of the three is good.

Mommy is coming in to the City tonight and we are going out to eat with Joey and Sandra Greenberg. Mommy is going to drive in with Sandra and I am going to meet them at the restaurant. The restaurant is called Haikara and I haven't been there in years. It should be a nice time.

I finally got the internet fixed but I still need to replace a piece called a "splitter." I actually won an auction on ebay for the piece. The cost was 20 cents but shipping was $2.99. It is still cheaper than having to buy it in the store.

Work is busy and I seem to lose steam by late afternoon. I think it is a combination of all the swimming and just that it is so hot.

I love you very much.

The Yankees and Whitesox and our Chicago Trip

It was great seeing you yesterday. It won't be long until you are home. I hope you had a great month at camp.

The water as really warm this morning and I was able to swim one more lap. That might not sound like a lot but I consider it a great improvement.

The Yankees signed Sidney Ponson who used to be good 5 years ago. They are looking for anyone to help with the starting rotation but right now they are looking really good. They just won 3 straight games from the Whitesox.

Speaking of Whitesox, I am close to finalizing our plans for Chicago. If all goes well, we may be able to take in 3 different games, Cubs, Whitesox and Brewers. Mommy is not completely thrilled about that prospect but she might get together with Susan Erdfarb one of those days.

I love you very much

Camp Life

I hope all is well with you. Right now it's 4:50 A.M. I got up before 4 A.M. to grab a quick breakfast because it's Shiva Asar B'Tamuz and the Fast didn't start until 4:23 A.M.!

I spoke to Mom & Dad and they said you're having a great time. I'm glad for that.

After I finish this letter, I'm going to look at the camp pictures on the web site. Mom said you were in a lot of pictures.

The weather here has been "up and down" - sunny and then torrential down pours and then sunny again. I guess you're having the same kind of weather. Well, try to keep dry! And have a great time.

Best regards from Grandma.

Love, Poppy

Weakfish and Fast Days

Today is Shiva Asar Btamuz and it is around 1 O'clock in the afternoon and I am beginning to drag. The fast starts at 4 AM and it doesn't make sense to get up early to eat. The worst part is that the fast doesn't end until 9:12. Basically, you break your fast and then get ready for bed!

I can't believe they took away all your peanut related stuff. What did they do with it..eat it themselves!

Steve and Patty caught this huge weakfish. The fish weighed eleven pounds and most have been 3 1/2 feet long. I think he was going to bring it to a local sushi chef and have him make sushi out of it. Even if it wasn't a fast day, it still sounds good.

I am still having trouble with the internet in the house but I think I have isolated the problem down to the router. I need to change the password protection on the router to allow my laptop to work.

The lawn is finally looking like a lawn. There are still some weeds but there aren't any bare spots and most of the weeds almost look like grass.

I love you very much.

Lido Beach & Becca's Bikini

Hi

Jeremy came back from the weekend at Joey and Jenny's house. He said that Sofia was following him around like a puppy dog but then her mood changed and she didn't want to have anything to do with him.

Mommy and I went out to pick Jeremy up on Sunday and then went to Lido beach with Kathy and David. Jeremy was very good and played with Jacob and Rebecca. Rebecca called her bathing suit a "zucchini." (It was a bikini.)

Anyhow, I have a full week of work ahead of me and it seems like a long time until the weekend. Mommy and I will probably head out around 8 O'clock on Sunday and should reach the camp by 10:30. Unfortunately, I don't think they open the gate to the camp until 11.

I think Mommy is arranging for the driver to get you to Moshava right around the same time that we arrive.

I love you very much.

Chinese Food and Swimming

Hi Josh

I went swimming this morning and was able to do 2 laps without stopping. That may not sound like a lot but it is a definite improvement from the week before.

My co-worker used to be a lifeguard and I am trying to get him to give me some pointers but he says he has to see a video tape of me swimming. Then he can critique my technique. I don't know how that is going to happen.

The weather this weekend is supposed to be beautiful and Mommy and I are the only ones in the house. I am sure it is going to be very quiet and lonely by ourselves. I think Mommy is buying chinese food for dinner.

I am still trying to get the cheese business off the ground and I think Judah Zweiter is going to help me out. I can't afford to spend too much time on the project and I hope the other Judah can do most of the leg work.

I love you

Routers, Jim Cramer and UARM

The internet at home keeps on going down and I can't figure out what the problem is. I keep on turning on and off the model and router but it doesn't seem to clear the problem.

Another thing that went down today was Under Armour. That crazy guy, Jim Cramer, said something negative about the stock and everybody started selling. It is amazing how much influence one crazy excitable guy can have on a single stock.

Jeremy is going to Poppy and Grandma's for shabbos. I think Avi is out there and we are going to go out on Sunday and go to the beach with Kathy and David.

I love you very much

Verizon, Roger Clemens & the Attic

I am still working on your phone. The Verizon people really don't know what they are doing but I am perservering.

We drove in to work today in the pouring rain. I don't ever remember it raining in the summer after 9AM but it came down in buckets. Right now it stopped raining but it is very humid.

There are rumours that Roger Clements might be traded to the Red Sox and that Alfonso Soriano might be traded to the Angels. The Red Sox are a scary good team and it would be hard for the Yankees to catch up if they get Roger Clemens.

Jeremy and I fixed Jesse's desk and got rid of a whole bunch of wires behind the hard drive in his room. It wasn't easy doing either task but I am glad we did.

We may start working on painting the attic soon.

I love you very much.

The Fourth of July

Today is July 4th and we were off from work, of course. We went out for brunch this morning and then we went to the swimclub for a short time. It is starting to rain once again - it is supposed to rain until Friday and then turn nice. Did you enjoy the Dunkin donut munchkins? How's the food in camp? How was Shabbat? Hopefully the weather has been nice in camp and you get to spend lots of time outside. Do you have fireworks in camp for July 4th? I think the fireworks might be cancelled here if we get thunderstorms and I am happy to watch it on TV anyway.
Avi is at Grandma and Poppy this week - he spent a night or two at Uncle Joey and then two nights at Grandma and Poppy. You will do the same when you come home.Keep up your great letters to us - we love hearing from you,
see you soon,Love Mom
