Alfonso Soriano and Bird Poop

The Nationals put Soriano on waivers. I don't really know how that works because it is after the trading deadline but ESPN thinks it is pretty much a given that the Red Sox and the Yankees will claim him off of waivers. What happens after that is anybody's guess.

Aunt Bryna came in with 3 out of the 4 girls. Elisheva is already in the Army and could not make the trip. The other girls are very tall and were very tired. We are trying to think of interesting things to do with them but not sure we came up with great ideas.

My car keeps on getting dive bombed by the birds who live in the tree in front of our house. It was so bad this morning that I couldn't see out the window. I really don't know what I am going to do about those birds.

I still need to figure out where we are staying for Shabbos but at least are flights are taken care of.

I love you very much and I will see you in less than a week!

Heromiles.com & the Yankees

Last Night's yankee game was on regular TV and I watch from the 4th inning on. It was such a pleasure and the yankees won. Johnny Damon had a triple and a home run. It appears as if the Orioles don't have much of a bullpen.

I was listening to the radio on my way in to work today and there is a great new charity called heromiles.com . Basically, you can donate your unused frequent fliers miles to a U.S. service man or woman so that they can get free flights. I'm sure we have lots of unused miles and I will investigate whether it pays to donate them to this organization.

We have been getting your text messages and it sounds like you are having fun. Camp memories will last you a life time. Enjoy it!

Aunt Bryna is coming in with the girls and will be with us until next wednesday.

I love you very much and can't wait to see you next monday.

Pirates of the Carribean

Dear Jeremy,
How were the final days of your trip to the Adirondacks? How was Cooperstown? Is it worth the drive? You have to tell us all about it on Sunday. Nothing much is new here - just very , very hot. Hopefully it won't be as hot on Tisha B'av. We went to see Pirates of the Carribean - I did not enjoy it and I did not see the first one. I kept falling asleep. It was really long - 2 1/2 hours . We went to a 7:20 movie and got home after 10!! Way too long for me. But Jesse and Josh really enjoyed it.Anyway, can't wait to see you on Sunday.Talk to you soon,Love, MOM

Optimum Triple Play & the Yankees

Another busy day at work. What happened to the good old days when I used to go to camp during the summer. Oh, I forgot, I grew up! Let me tell you, it is not all its cracked up to be. Working in the City was its 90 degrees, fighting traffic, eating at my desk... I could go on and on.

The Yankees pulled out another win. Granted they aren't facing stiff competition in the Rangers but they did pick up a game on the Red Sox who lost to A's. They are only 2 1/2 games out of first place and might be tied for the wild card.

I am thinking about signing for the Optimum triple play. Basically, we would have the same cable and internet services we have already but we could add our phone line to the service. I need to do an analysis to see if it will save us money.

Anyhow, I love you very much and hope you are having a great time!

Love

Honda Civics and Carpooling

Hopefully this email arrived the first day of camp. I'm glad you were up when I came back from the pool. I wanted to say goodbye to you before you left. Anyway, the first month must have been very relaxing for you and the 2nd month will be a little more exciting.

Do Machal Boys get to fire rifles? What about Bows and arrows?

The trader rumours are still swirling around Bobby Abreu, Melke Cabrera and Alex Rodriguez. Personally, I think it would be a mistake to trade A-rod. He is arguably the best player in baseball over the last 10 years.

I still haven't booked our airline tickets for Chicago. I really need to make a decision this week but I am waiting for the fares to come down a little bit. If they don't I will just book the flights at the most convenient aiport. (Probably Newark)

I drove carpool today in my Civic. The problem is that Marty and Charlie are big boys and we also gave a ride to Ari Plaut. It looked like a fraternity prankl: how many grown men can you squeeze into a compact car. I was in the front and had plenty of room so it really didn't affect me.

I hope you have a great month and an easy fast and I will write to you regularly.

Love

Dale & Thomas Popcorn and Shabbos Cake

I am still eating the popcorn that I brought back from Moshava. Even though it is a little stale it still tastes pretty good!

I haven't been to the gym much these days. Instead, I exercise by swimming in the pool each morning. I would like to go at night but I usually get home too late.

Jeremy is still at Joey's and it is pretty wierd being in the house with no kids home. I really wanted to use the time to paint the attic but I always seem to find other things to do instead.

I actually bid on something on ebay. I think I might have mentioned that I bought a cable splitter on ebay. This is because the cable repair guy suspects that the splitter is what was causing the internet service to be interrupted.

I love you very much and eat an extra piece of shabbos cake for me.

Incredible Thunderstorms!

Jeremy went to Uncle Joey's for a few days and has been helping him clean his office and he has been going to lunch with Poppy. Maybe when you guys go home, you will do the same thing!

I need to cut the grass tonight but I also want to go to the pool. Maybe I will swim for a little while and rush back home. That way I still have a little daylight left and I can mow the lawn.

We had some amazing thunderstorms last night and we lost power for over four hours. Mommy said that she tried turning on the TV and you can hear it but there isn't a picture. It is sort of like listening to radio.

The Yankees won an exciting game last night. They tied the score in the bottom of the 9th by scoring 2 runs and then Melke Cabrera hit a home run to win the game after a 2 hour rain delay.

I think the Yankees are only 1/2 a game out of first place.

I love you very much
